I trained over 15 years ago at York St John University. I then spent 5 years working for The Women's Counselling Service in North Yorkshire, dealing with women with addiction, depression, anxiety, abuse, many traumatic issues.

Having had my own trauma issues earlier in my life, seeking therapy helped me find a new path. Therapy is my passion; my own experience along with the training and my continuing professional development, sitting alongside people, constantly refines my approach. My latest training in trauma informed works brings trauma-informed therapy, which includes talking and creative therapy.

Building a relationship is key in therapy, promoting emotional intelligence, wellbeing and resilience. My goal is to empower clients to achieve this.

I offer trauma-informed psychotherapy, blending words, creative and somatic techniques, supporting you to reconnect, heal and navigate life with greater ease

Trauma is not the event, it is what happens to you on the inside, how your mind and body have to adapt in order to survive. This can show up as addiction, anxiety, depression, disconnection, being overwhelmed, patterns that become a difficult spiral to get out of. Together, we can work at your pace, using the techniques that I bring to understand these responses, to gently process what's held in your mind and body. As we progress this will help you feel more grounded, connected and in control.

Testimonial

I’ve been working with Georgina since March 2023 and throughout my many sessions with her the experience has been positive and impactful.

I experienced childhood trauma and had a difficult upbringing. Although my current adult life is full of positivity, love and support, I find it hard to fully enjoy what is in front of me. I truly wanted to work on myself to become happier.

Throughout the process, Georgina has always made me feel safe to talk about anything. She is sympathetic toward my problems and often makes me feel safe and “not alone.” Her approach to each session is always well-prepared, organized, and flexible. Most importantly, Georgina offers tools and methods to guide me through hard times, such as drawing, imagery and empty chair work. I find that I can always return to these methods when I am struggling. Her dedication and effort toward her clients are truly encouraging.

I have grown so much through my work with Georgina and I am now much more at peace and content. Thank you, Georgina!
